BruinFresh is a supplemental food program for enrolled graduate and professional students at UCLA. This program is funded through the BruinFresh Referendum for Graduate and Professional Students. Approved by student referendum in spring 2026. The fee is subject to annual inflationary adjustments starting in fall 2029. Twenty-five percent of revenue collected is returned to support financial aid. passed in the Spring of 2026.
The referendum adds a new campus-based fee of $5.00 per quarter or $7.50 per semester for only graduate and professional students (, beginning in Fall 2026). This fund will provide will fund a supplemental, university-administered food access program for enrolled graduate and professional students experiencing food insecurity whose needs may not be fully addressed through existing resources, including CalFresh. The program is managed by UCLA Basic Needs at Strathmore.
