BruinFresh
BruinFresh is a supplemental food program for enrolled graduate and professional students at UCLA. This program is funded through the BruinFresh Referendum for Graduate and Professional Students. This fee was approved by the Student Referendum in Spring 2026. The fee is subject to annual inflationary adjustments starting in Fall 2029. Twenty-five percent of revenue collected is returned to support financial aid.
The referendum adds a new campus-based fee of $5.00 per quarter or $7.50 per semester for only graduate and professional students(beginning in Fall 2026). This fund will provide will fund a supplemental, university-administered food access program for enrolled graduate and professional students experiencing food insecurity whose needs may not be fully addressed through existing resources, including CalFresh. The program is managed by UCLA Basic Needs at Strathmore.

The mission is BruinFresh is acommitment to reducing food insecurity by providing enrolled UCLA graduate and professional students with reliable access to nutritious, high-quality food. Through equitable food assistance, community partnerships, and student-centered support, we empower students to focus on their education, improve their well-being, and thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

If you are interested in being apart of the creation of this program, join our Focus Groups. Focus groups are being conducted in Fall 2026 in-person. To participate, you must be a graduate and professionals students.
